Professional bike repair and servicing
Welcome to Road and Trail where we provide the peace of mind for you to enjoy your cycling, in the knowledge that your bike has been inspected and tuned for performance
If you ride regularly, it’s a good idea to have your bike serviced annually. A standard service will keep your bike running efficiently and smoothly, enhancing the enjoyment of the road or the trails.
I offer a free collection and drop off service within a 5 mile radius of the workshop in Puddington, Neston. Outside of this area, I charge a small fee to cover collection and drop off. I cover most of The Wirral, West Cheshire and into North Wales too.
I test ride bikes (if possible!) and discuss customer requirements before any work is carried out. A full test ride and a bike condition report provided upon completion of any service or repairs.
Pricing does not include parts (unless stated), which I can cost and supply accordingly.
Standard Service £70
For the regular mile muncher or trail hitter, this is the perfect annual service for your machine. Your bike will undergo a comprehensive inspection prior to any work.
Check and Tune £45
Your bike is mechanically sound but perhaps all it needs is a pre season tune up. You get peace of mind prior to a big ride or event, knowing your bike is ready to go.
Pro Service £125
Treat your bike to the works, no stone left unturned including a full comprehensive strip down of the bike and all components cleaned and degreased.

Hi, my name is James.
I’m the face behind Road and Trail. The name Road and trail was born from the love of the open road and the thrill of the mountain trails.
I’m a life long cyclist with a passion for anything two wheels. Road bikes, mountain bikes, cyclocross, bmx, you name it, I’ve probably ridden it!
As a young kid my dad taught me how to fix bikes, and that interest has carried on over the last twenty plus years. Servicing and repairing my own bikes, friends bikes and building custom made bikes.
When the world turned upside down in 2020, I decided to turn my passion into my career, retraining at the well renowned Bike Inn, in Cumbria, gaining a professionally recognized level 2 qualification in bike mechanics.
Whether you’re training for an ultra endurance event, riding once a week on the Sunday club run or commuting to work, I’m here to make sure your bike will be running it’s best.
"Really pleased with the service of our mountain bike. Bike has come back sparkling, but also fixed where required. All was done very quickly and we were provided with a comprehensive report of all maintenance carried out and areas of concern. Thanks!" "Took a wheel in for repair, did very quickly and at a very good price. Very professional and friendly service too!" "The customer service I received from James at Road and Trail was excellent. I needed a full service of my bike before taking it to university as it was rusty and wasn’t riding smoothly. I also assumed that it might need a set of new inner tubes as the tyres had been flat for many years. However, not only did James get my bike looking like new, he told me that new inner tubes were not needed. So, the price was even more reasonable than first expected! I would highly recommend Road and Trail to anyone needing any repairs or services on their bike!" "I follow James on Instagram and noticed he did repairs/maintenance and that‘s definitely something I needed. I’m not particularly mechanical and tinkering around with gears, cassettes, wheels gives me the dread. I sent James a message tentatively seeing if he would come as far as Garston. Like the man from Del Monte he said yes. Brilliant. He replaced my wheels, gave my bike a check over and returned it within 3 days. Now i have the peace of mind to get out on the bike and enjoy the cathartic wonder of cycling. Cheers James. I highly recommend him to anyone wary of bike mechanics. Definitely an asset to the local scene."
