They can take a bit of finding, but with some tlc, a few new components, it’s very easy to turn them into great looking and riding bikes again.

Whyte gravel machine given some post winter love after some hard graft on the commute.
Full strip down of the drivetrain, new cassette and chain fitted and a full de-grease. Tuned up with new cables. Replaced some very worn brake pads! and tuned the brakes up with a bleed.

Customer lost drive halfway round a big ride. Tracked it down to stuck pawls in the freehub. Hope brakes sharpened up with a bleed and a drivetrain clean up and service. Trail ready again.
90’s Peugeot Europa brought back to the road from a life rusting in the back of a garage.
A day’s labour, a few new parts, some work on the bearings, straighten out the wheels, new tyres, serious amount of cleaning and polishing and it rides like a new bike.

Not much room to breath around those brake callipers and tyre clearances.
